Conventions of Magazines

At the top of the magazine, you can see the masthead. It has two different fonts and it is large and stands out. I did this because this is the first thing people will see and it draws them in. on the left of the magazine cover, you can see the cover lines. These are smaller than my masthead but they are used to tell the readers what is in the magazine. Again I have used different fonts to make the magazine interesting. The puff is located on the right of the magazine cover, they are usually circle and this persuades the target audience to buy the magazine. Usually they say "exclusive issue" or "Exclusive interview inside". The Instagram logo is also a puff and this persuades the target audience to follow the student DUTC Instagram. The main image is of my friends speaking into microphones. This links to the main cover line and the image covers the whole of the page. The main tagline talks about a UTC radio station and this is the main focus in the magazine. The colours are DUTC'S colours and the design is modern and sleek to attract the student target audience. Because this is a DUTC student magazine, i have used their logo in the top right of the magazine front cover.
